Direct answer: Hard Wood is the practical loved gift to plan for Ryis. Use Wood as the easier repeat option, donate new collection items before gifting them, and save the strongest gift for the birthday bonus when possible.

Where to get the easy gift

Wood makes Ryis easy to include in an early-game route, but construction plans still come first. Keep a small gift stack beside the farm exit, reserve Spring 4 in advance, and never empty a building-upgrade pile just to improve one day's reaction. The gift hub compares other low-cost routines.

Birthday and repeat-gift plan

Keep Hard Wood for Spring 4 if town construction is not consuming the stack. In the first year, ordinary Wood or Stone is a far cheaper liked gift, and Lilac is a useful seasonal alternative. Combine the gift with Carpenter’s Shop upgrades so friendship never costs a separate trip or delays a building order.

Schedule summary

The Carpenter’s Shop is the best workday check. Weather, festivals, heart events, and story days can override a normal route, so use this as a first check rather than an hour-by-hour promise.

Heart events and dating

Ryis’s events follow the Hawthorn-tree birdhouse project. The first starts through Landen rather than Ryis, a detail many short guides omit.

Dating and marriage requirements

Choose the Romantic route in A Duet, reach ten hearts with Dating status, and continue through the marriage guide.

A practical weekly gift route

Wood is renewable and easy to carry on a Carpenter's Shop route, while Hard Wood becomes the stronger gift after it stops blocking buildings and crafting. Never empty the construction chest for a gift; reserve a small stack specifically for Ryis.

Attach Ryis to carpenter visits, building checks, and wood-gathering loops. Spare Wood makes the ordinary routine forgiving, but a barn, coop, bridge, or furniture target has priority; hold the Spring 4 gift in advance and let conversation cover any week when construction consumes the reserve.

How this list was checked

Ryis's carpenter role, birthday, workshop schedule, quests, and heart-event order are checked against his wiki.gg profile. Wood, crafted goods, and food reactions are compared with mistria.info, then evaluated against building demand so a plentiful material is not called cheap when the player is saving for construction.
