Spring: unlock the town loop
Prioritize the bridge repair, early tool access, the Saturday Market, and crops that can repay their seed cost before the month ends. The Spring Festival falls on day 17, while Ryis and March have early birthdays. Start saving a loved or liked gift immediately rather than searching on the birthday itself.
Summer: protect time for collections
Summer has six birthdays, the densest birthday schedule of the year. Keep labeled gift stacks and combine deliveries with shop, beach, and museum routes. The Shooting Star Festival is on the final day, so harvest and ship crops before the evening.
Fall: push upgrades without overplanting
The Harvest Festival arrives on day 10. Fall is also a strong crop-profit season, but a large field can consume the time needed for mining and town upgrades. Use the best crops guide to compare raw returns instead of planting only by sale price.
Winter: gifts, animals, and missing sets
Winter has ten birthdays and the Animal Festival on day 10. Crops still grow normally, so Snow Peas can fund the month while you finish cold-season fish, insects, and forage. Check the museum checklist before selling the first copy of a seasonal find.
Crop and collection deadlines
A crop only advances on a watered day. Missing a watering does not kill it; growth pauses, which still makes late-season planting risky. Use this rule before buying seed:

For regrowing crops, plant as close to day 1 as possible. Each missed regrowth cycle permanently reduces the season's return. For fish and insects, note the season, weather, location, and time window together; arriving in the correct season is not enough when rain or nighttime is also required.
