Quick answer: Prioritize quests that unlock a tool, building, vendor, mine biome, or town service. Ordinary Request Board jobs can wait; active quests do not need to be rushed at the cost of upgrade materials.
Quest types and what they unlock
| Quest type | Where it starts | Typical result | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main story | Mail, dialogue, or a story location | New area, spell, character, or story chapter | Highest when it blocks access |
| Town improvement | Adeline, town rank, or project box | Building, shop stock, market vendor, or service | High |
| Introductory quest | Early mail and resident dialogue | Core tool or feature tutorial | High until the tool is obtained |
| Heart quest | Character relationship progression | Personal story and later relationship events | High for the chosen route |
| Request Board job | Board in town | Tesserae, renown, items, and friendship | Opportunistic |
| Crown Request | Unlocked after sufficient town rank | Larger structured request | Medium to high |
| Cooking Challenge | Later Saturday Market progression | Cooking-focused reward and completion goal | Optional |
Early quests and permanent unlocks
| Quest | Earliest trigger | Requirement | Reward or unlock |
|---|---|---|---|
| Greet the Townsfolk | Opening days | Talk to 22 townspeople | 3 Potato Seeds, 100 Tesserae, 20 Renown |
| Museum Donations Wanted | Spring 2 | Meet Errol at the museum | Museum access, 100 Tesserae, 20 Renown |
| Do a Bro a Favor | Spring 2 | Talk to Olric | Worn Pickaxe, 20 Renown |
| Something's Bugging Me | Spring 4 | Meet Luc | Worn Net, 20 Renown |
| Friday at the Sleeping Dragon | Spring 5 | Visit the inn Friday after 6:00 PM | Mixed Fruit Juice, 20 Renown |
| Seeking Gossip | Summer 1 | Speak with Balor, Juniper, and Dell | Gift-hint feature, 20 Renown |
Do these early because they establish the basic collection and social loops. A missed day does not normally destroy the quest; return when the condition is available.

Request Board strategy
Request Board jobs are generated from a broad pool and are not a single linear quest chain. Accept jobs that overlap an existing route or use renewable materials. Since an accepted request stays in the journal, you can wait for the correct crop, season, weather, or mine floor instead of buying back a scarce resource.
Before handing in an item, protect:
- the first museum copy;
- tool and town-upgrade ingots;
- story tablets and seal materials;
- one stack of seasonal forage and crops for cooking;
- high-quality animal products needed for breeding or crafting.
Mine quest progression
Warning: reveal mine biomes, tablets, spells, seals, and final-story requirements
The mine route begins with The State of the Mines and the Rank 10 quest to unlock the entrance. From there, each major seal is a progression gate rather than a random combat check.
| Stage | Required items or condition | Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Water Tablet | Stone Loach, Upper Mines Mushroom, Ruby, Lantern Moth | Tide Caverns and the Rain spell |
| Earth Tablet | Coral Mantis, Sapphire, Archerfish, Jade Dulse | Deep Earth and the Growth spell |
| Fire route | Procure the Sealing Scroll, then break the Fire Seal | Lava Caves, Deep Woods, and Dragon's Breath |
| Sealing Scroll cost | 10 Ruby, 10 Sapphire, 10 Emerald, 10 Silver Ingots | Required for Fire Seal progression |
| Create Void Mass | 5 Void Stone, 5 Void Powder, 5 Void Herb, 5 Void Pearl | Required for the Ruins seal |
| Break the Ruins Seal | Complete the Void Mass step | Ancient Ruins floors 81–90 and Void Sight |
| Find the Magic Key | Complete the related Ruins objective | Floors 91–100 and Sacred Light |
| Dragonsworn Tablet | 8 hearts with Juniper and Eiland plus their 8-heart events | Advances the final tablet route |
| Break the Final Seal | Dragon-Forged Fang, Horn, Core, and Powder | Opens the final Seridia story sequence |
If progress stops, search the journal for an unfinished tablet or sealing step before grinding town rank. The mine route is deliberately sequential.
A clean quest routine
- Read mail and the journal before leaving the farm.
- Pin one unlock quest and at most two route-compatible requests.
- Move protected upgrade and museum items into separate chests.
- Combine deliveries with shopping, gifting, and museum routes.
- Submit project materials in complete batches when possible so you know what remains.
- At night, check whether the next quest requires a specific morning, weather state, or weekday.
Quest troubleshooting FAQ
Do quests expire?
Accepted quests generally remain active. Festival opportunities and seasonal materials can still be time-sensitive, so the journal should be checked before the season changes.
Why is the next town project missing?
Confirm the previous project is complete, collect its follow-up dialogue or mail, and verify the required town rank. Some projects also wait for a new day.
When do Crown Requests unlock?
Crown Requests become part of progression after Town Rank 50. They are distinct from ordinary random Request Board jobs.
Should I complete every request immediately?
No. Permanent unlocks outrank routine rewards. Skip or delay a request when it consumes resources needed for tools, town improvements, museum completion, or the main story.
